Generac 6500 questions

Anyone have a Generac 6500 on board generator in their motorhome that has had occasions where it will stop running? This usually happens to me ONLY while we’re driving. I’ve had it running non-stop for 1-2 hours when we’re stopped and/or doing my monthly tests with the air conditioners running so it’s under load.....no problems.

However, on occasions where I’ve needed the genny for the air conditioners while driving, it has stopped running. It can be in just a few minutes or after 1/2 hour, but it stops.

I’ve heard causes could be the low oil level sensor (I’m filled right up to the top level line) or the internal temperature sensor causing shut down.

Anyone changed either sensor? Any details for changing either? Costs?

Is there some other reason you can offer?

Is your full level dipping under the 1/4 tank or wherever your min level is for your generator? Mine is marked on the fuel gauge, but really not sure how accurate that is it how turns could affect it.

This is not a “not enough gas in the tank” scenario.

This has happened with full, 3/4 and 1/2 tank of fuel on board.

The generator only stops when we’re driving....not just bumpy roads...can and does happen while on the highway...although not all highways are smooth as glass.

It breathes when we’re parked for hours on end...what’s your point?

Excuse me for sounding brash, but it runs perfectly when parked, therefore, it breathes fine for running when we’re parked. It only stops running when we’re driving so I don’t understand what you mean by “is it able to breathe.....”
