I have an np-66g Generac and trying to troubleshoot a problem with no a/c output. Shore power works and the inverter works. The generator starts but doesn’t have output it has two circuits a 20 amp and a 30 amp. I can’t find any info on testing the timed delay on the Todd power switch to try to determine if the delay is not functioning or the generator itself is defective. The belt is fine. The windings for the generator have .5 ohms on each winding and all circuit breakers on the generator have continuity. Any tecs out there that can give me a tip on testing the time delay?

Can't you open up the transfer switch and simply test for 120v on each of the generator hot leads? On most of them the cover is readily removable to access the lugs where the genrator and shore power connect up.

I checked at the switch and at the circuit breakers on the generator and there is no a/v voltage, so it must be the generator or its components. I don't know if the regulator would cause this problem or how to check the regulator. any ideas?

I downloaded the PDF file at generac web site and ohm'd out the windings and determined the stator was shorted between two separate windings. I found a replacement stator on line for $310.00!! I haven't replaced it as of today. I plan on doing it next week or the week after.

How did you check ohms across the windings. Did you check between 2a & 6 & 22s & 11 ?

I ohmed across windings with wires disconnected including ground. 2&6, 22s &11,33&44, then 2&11, then 2&33. 2 was shorted to winding 33.

Hope this helps.

I had a like problem low volts on each breaker turned out to be a bad voltage regulator.

Chris - you can download all the service manuals from this site -www.generator-parts.com - you will need your model number to identify which manual you need.
