In my 2000 Dutchstar Ford V10, I have an original 6600Watt generator that has been used once or twice for South Florida Hurricanes to power in-house appliances. Generally I ran the Genset once a month for 1/2 hour and slowly added loads and then slowly removed loads. Last time I waited 35 min. and noted all loads dumped out but genset ran. Turned everything off and next day tried system again. Loads came on ok but I noted all loads seemed to be on the same phase, not like when I used my 50 amp service and the 240v was split (2 Phase). My a/c system is split into 2 phases with an a/c on each and all other breakers evenly split. Would have thought Genset would do same, but it is one phase and the same for both sides of my a/c panel. I am now concerned this is a problem and when I use my genset can only use one a/c at a time like using 30a service at a camp ground, thus not exceeding amperage. Looking for your thoughts? Perhaps I do not have an issue, just do not know?

Tx. John

Welcome John to irv2.
Newmar did at a time wire both AC's on same side of load center causing your problem.
If you have to much of a load the breakers on Gen may switch off.
I do not think you have a issue your aware of them.
Just check you wiring loads on both sides of your load center.
