My Generac starts OK but runs for about 1 Min then shuts off. Try to start again and use the prime but fuel pump keeps running and it will not start. Let it set for awhile and it will start but shuts off again.

What is the fuel level in the tank? It will have to be at least 1/4 or the pickup for the generator is not in the gas. Have you checked the oil level? It must be at least close to the properlevel. If you have enough fuel in the tank & oil, the problem could be in the carburator; ie, the fuel bowl may not be getting enough flow for the engine to continue to run. This is why it is necesary to run the generator every month for a couple hours under load; keeps the fuel from gelling or varnishing in the carburator.

Yes I have lots of gas and oil,I bought a short gas hose to run from my gas can and will try this soon to see if the problem is the fuel line

Inadequate oil pressure will also cause this - the engine shuts down to avoid damage. Low oil is the usual cause of low pressure, but too much oil can also do it because the high level causes foaming and loss of pressure.

Well I got a 2 foot hose and my gas can to bypass the fuel line from the tank and it worked the generator ran for .5 hour with both airs on.

So it looks like I need a new fuel line
