Generator and A/C Problem

Hi, I have a 2011 Serrano 31X and while cleaning the battery posts I had an arc which burned out the solenoid. I replaced it successfully then checked all fuses which are good. I have power in the coach but I can't start the generator, ACs or operate the jacks! Batteries are all testing good and it's plugged to shore power. I'm at a loss any suggestions greatly appreciated. I'm in the process of putting this coach on the market and need it operating correctly! Thank you, Deb

There is a circuit breaker between generator and battery bank. You need to find the Battery Control Center and remove cover making sure any circuit breakers in it are reset by pushing in the little button on the side. Also look near the battery bank and reset any breakers that may have a yellow or red lever that can be pushed back into place. Good luck and keep us posted.

Generator and A/C Problem

Thank you for the advice! I checked and reset all the breakers I could find. I just removed all of the battery cables and cleaned again. While I had them off I tested the batteries again and I believe two of them are probably bad testing at below 50%. So I'm going to replace those on Saturday and I'll keep you posted. Thanks again RV Wizard,,,,I wish I were one ;-)

Hate to add to your woes, but how did you test the batteries to say they were "below 50%"? It's possible that the are sulfated and could be resurrected. If not, then the recommendation is to replace all of the batteries (you implied you have more than two) at the same time to avoid balance issues between the new and old.

Update here just had an "RV Specialist" check everything I've done and he said the solenoid I replaced which I bought at an RV dealership was an alternative part and to replace it with a White Rodgers which was originally in there just to be safe. He once again cleaned and moved the battery cables apparently I had put one in the wrong place which was giving me the bad reading. They all tested strong so he moved onto the converter and determined it was going out and probably never been replaced due to a recall before I bought it. Long story short only charged me 50$ for 1 1/2 hours work and told me where to order the converter and how to replace it when I receive it!! Ordered it and praying that's my fix ;-) when I sell it I'm buying a tent!!!! I'm to old for this and certainly not smart enough!
I'll keep you posted and I enjoy reading about everyone's adventures.
Thanks for the much needed advice!
