Details of your RV is necessary for any kind of diagnosis or advice. What kind of RV, brand, model, etc. For instance, I am familiar with towable RV systems, but know little about todays MH systems
I sincerely hope you have found us to be a friendly and knowledgeable group, we are eager to help each other when we can .

dirttracker0,

turning off the battery bank is not a good idea... the inverter/converter will, in most cases, not charge your batteries in this scenario. Have you checked that current is actually getting to the batteries? And that there is no drain, even with the switch off? Have you checked the electrolyte levels? as Ray, IN said.. we need some information to help

You might start by checking your battery terminals and insure they are clean and tight. Do the batteries have water? Are the batteries old and just won't hold a charge? What is the voltage of the batteries when they are getting charged?

'99 National Sea View with a Power Tek 73600-00130 PCB Assembly Rev B, PDC - 1201 Rev B.
I would like to get a schematic for this controller unit if possible. The unit is plugged in and runs year round and is working fine but there are a number of cuts and jumpers that I didn't make and have no idea what they do or did. A picture of a board with the various fuse values would help as well.
Thanks,
John Fulton

Check and see if the 100 amp fuse that the batteries connect to is blown
your symptons are the same as mine on my endeavor and that was my problem . put a 100.00 fuse back in and everything works fine now , on my endeavor the fuse was in the same compartment as the batteries and the positive cable ran from the batteries to the fuse and then to the cut off switch. hope this info helps

Why would you turn the battery switches off but leave the inverter switch on? The inverter is a major source of power draw from the batteries if shore power is not present. Even if nothing in the RV is turned on, the inverter still draws some current. Turn that inverter off if you don't need it to power stuff yu are actively using.

And what is the condition of your batteries? Failure to take and hold a charge is a classic symptom of a weak battery. Have you checked the water level in the cells lately?

Unless your inverter is connected to your system through a sub panel and transfer switch, while plugged into shore power, with the batt switch turned off, the inverter will drain your batts dead.

Leave the inverter switch off except when you don't have shore power, that is when it is meant to be used. Do not disconnect your battery switch unless you are storing it for a period of time, such as between camping trips etc.

Good Luck,
Bill
