Is there a generator auto start that will work with onan to start up the generator just in case of shore power failure?

Yes. Onan Equinox will do it once the battery voltage drop to 12.2 volts and will shut down when shore power is restored. Been there, done that. It is also programable so it can't happen at quiet time.

Yes, the Cummins/Onan EC-30 or the EC-30W AutoStart. The Cummins/Onan part number is 018-03000 for the EC-30W and it costs about $500. You will also need a Y-harness to make the connection. The part number for the diesel generator is 044-00088 and it costs about $70.Here is an installation video on YouTube -
