I have a Onan 7000 generator and have a question about output. I'm checking voltage at the transfer swith and I get the following readings; red-white=120V, black-white=120V, red-black=0V. Shouldn't I get 220V between red-black?

No, your readings are completely normal

The generator has two legs both same phase

It may be possible to re-wire the unit for 120/240 volt use but as shipped it's 120/120
