Does anyone on this thread have experience with coleman brand or all power brand generators? I have found several on craigslist for sale but not many yamaha or honda. I don't mind paying the extra money for a better known brand however, I'm wondering if it's a waste of money to buy these cheaper brand generators.

Please excuse my faux pas in posting the previous thread in the wrong location.

I have been recently researching generators at Sears And have found a few models designed for camping. I'm still looking 4 input on the quality of craftsman, all power And coleman generators. I would appreciate your Opinions.

I replied in your other thread. Those are construction generators, very noisy. They are not allowed in most CG's because of the noise. I recommend a Boliy, for many reasons. Just read the specs forBoliy, Honda, Yamaha, Champion, and other "camping generators" and decide yourself.
Sears does not make any of their products, most are re-branded products from well-known mfgrs., made to Sears specs.
IMO any camping generator will not have a noise level above 57db at full throttle/load.

I'm with Ray. Quieter is much better.

Been there done that. I even spent $120 on a B&S "quiet muffler" in an attempt to reduce the noise, to no avail.

I have a Coleman that is supposedly for camping. I bought it because it was cheap and I needed something to charge the 5th wheel batteries when boondocking when I had that rig. While it is much quieter than construction generators it is sure a lot louder than the Honda EU series. We didn't need ours much so it worked out but if I were planning on using it much or in crowded campgrounds I would certainly spend the extra money on the Honda.

As far as reliability, I haven't had any problems.
