I have a friend with a Holiday Rambler coach, I don't know much about the coach other than he is having an issue with the Generator running. I'll try to describe things as best I can.

The generator will only run for about 2 mins after starting. Recent Oil change along with Filter, oil pressure OK. Recent rebuild of Carb by professional shop. Onan NHM 6800 (Marquis 7000).

Problem only presents when the Fridge is running at the same time as the generator. Fridge will not run on Propane, it fails to light. The fridge does not have a 12V setting only, just a 12v/Gas setting. It will run on 12V and on 120V AC. I don't know what kind of Fridge it is.

It appears that when the fridge is on the 12V/gas setting that the generator will run for 25-45 seconds after the transfer switch kicks in. It will also die in about the same time period after changing fridge setting from 120V to 12V/Gas setting.

Any clues? I can't come up with a good explanation of why things won't play nicely together. Does he just repair the Fridge and see what happens next?

The heating elements of refridge maybe defective tripping the Gen.
Unplug the 110 power cord for fridge than start Gen if Gen now will run I'd say its the elements.
The 12v part of fridge will still work fridge control board from house batteries.
110 part for elements is a separate item of fridge there only for heating the evaporator tank.
Go to pg 22 of this download and you will see the ac heater circuit of fridge with power cord and 5 amp fuse. must heater circuits are the same in refrigerators.
You see the 12v supply for control board also.
