Can I use calgon liquid instead of powder and still use 2 cups or do you use less? Can't find the powder.

Where do you find the liquid?

The powder is available on Amazon.

Borax is a softner and detergent. I started using that because calgon powder is hard to find. I used to get it at Walmart, and it was inexpensive. I could no longer get it there, and it was expensive at the grocery store. I just bought borax because it had the necessary stuff, and was cheap.

Sounds like a possible good alternative to the sometimes hard-to-find Calgon liquid/powder. Wonder if there would be any detrimental effect to the dump stations bacteria?

About how much of each, Calgon(Powder) and Dawn HD DG, do you use? I've just been chucking in what ever felt right at the time (Not very scientific), I was hoping to refine that a bit (ok a lot). Too little won't do the job right, too much is a waste of product. So, back to my question how much is Goldielocks(Just right)?

a cup of each in a gal of water. I mix them each on there own. Works well.

After this discussion , I looked up the possible toxicity ramifications. I may have to look further because it seems there maybe some controversy to its safety. In high concentrations it is toxic, but so is oxygen. It has many uses, but maybe I should use baking soda.

Thank for that, but just to be clear, that's a cup of Calgon Powder, not the liquid, right?

I use the powder (I bought it on Amazon) I guess you might need more of the liquid. Not sure but I'm sure someone can tell you here.
