My battery tray needs good cleaning and battery checkup. I am going to remove all batteries brush and repaint. My question is, can I disconnect and remove all batteries to clean without affecting electrical issues inside? In other words, do I need the batteries hooked up while I am running on shore power. This will be a two day job while at a park. If I need to keep batteries hooked up how do you do that and get things cleaned up. Thanks for any suggestions. Also do I take the batteries to an auto shop for accurate check and should I equalize these bad boys now? The batteries are 6V and 5 years old. Thanks again

You can clean your trays as long as you keep the shore power hooked up.
Remove battery cables and tape the one from converter charger, tag all cables as to where they are hooked up.
All you 12volt control boards refridge, furnace will run from converter.
If your batteries have been giving good service check water levels and put them on a battery charger while out of coach.
Check the battery negative cables to the chassis frame for good clean connections than hook everything back up.

After you have everything cleaned, and re-painted, to help protect your work you might consider using a Battery Mat
; and BatteryDe-Mister.com - Up to 3 times Longer Battery Life! Guaranteed.
