Question Grey tank connection

Here are some photos of my grey tank where it connects to the 1 1/2" drain pipe.

I need to replace the pipe from the tank to the blade valve. This means I need to replace reducer as well because they are all glued together.

The reducer is glued in what looks like a single sided H type ABS fitting that is clamped into the outlet of the grey tank.

Does anyone know what the grey stuff squirting out of the joint is? Is this joint only held together with the grey stuff and the clamp?

Thanks in advance.

I thought that too, but it is a little to elastic to be just plumbers putty.

My guess would be silicone or latex sealant. Also, with the silver color it could possibly be the paint on sealant used around HVAC joints.

I agree either way, looks like a sealant or something and no big deal. Perhaps even something put in after to stop a leak.
