Thinking of installing guide/docking lights.

My questions are:
1) Anyone with positive or negative experiences with either of these lights?
2) Does one provide better coverage than the other, etc..
3) Best place to mount them? Seems like just aft of the rear wheel well. Roughly level with the top of the wheel.

Any input is appreciated.

Have found 2 different styles I like.

This one would allow me to have it painted to match the coach.
Intertek Guide-Lites - Polar White

This one in chrome would not require painting

I don't have any experience, but the Intertek lights have good specifications on the light beam, while the ones from RV direct don't have anything. I would be inclined to buy the Intertek, rather than install the other brand and find that they just produce pencil beam lighting.

sdennis, my old Weekend Warrior TH had 4 of that same light...2 on right side, 2 on rear....all mounted high and pointing downwards. They work fantastic!!! I have been planning to install 2 onto my rear cap, up high. They have a wide angle of light, so lighting off to the sides will be good. Also with being high and aimed downwards, complaints should be less as they won't ever be beaming into someone's eyes as they sit in their camp site when your moving in or out.

That same light was on eBay for aprox $20 less

Check out item 380284933038 on eBay and save a few bucks. That is the same light used on many Monaco models. I bought these and had them painted to match my coach.

Thanks for the tip. Buying a set.

Did you wire them separately or connect them in to you backup lights.

Rex those are what my WW had and what my Dynasty will have come spring. I will wire mine on a switch. That way they can be used at any time for lighting. I am mounting my high on the rear cap.

Pending the type switches in your dash...you may find a labeled "docking switch" on ebay that matches your current switches
