I'm not sure if this belongs here, but here it is. I'm looking for anyone with experience with a lift system for motorhomes, either platform, personnel, or swing arm. Particularly for after market add-on. Widen the door? Power requirement? Weight capacity? We have three wheelchair bound children (almost 9, 9, and 8) who are getting too big to carry up the steps for much longer (at our age). The M/H floor is the fifth step up. They do not need to stay in the wheelchairs during travel, or possibly not even for lifting, but we need to get them up to their seats somehow. Right now we have five little ones altogether (3 adopted and 2 foster), but when we quit fostering, we have discussed moving or removing the lounge seat to widen the door, if necessary. We would appreciate any thoughts on this matter.

I can't help with specifics, but I can point you in the right direction. Thankfully my wife only has to use a chair lift at home. She can make it up the stairs, albiet slowly, of our trailer. Check out these web sites:

Good Luck!
