Has my Thermostat gone bad?

I'm having a problem with both Dometic roof units (air/heat pump, 2013 and 2015) and my Suburban propane furnace (OEM, 2002). My thermostat is the Dometic 5-button (previous owner, 2012).

Everything has run as it should for the past five years. About two weeks ago I noticed that my roof units were sometimes running too long. They would both keep running for a while after the target temperature was reached, even when set differently. At first I (and my wife) thought it was my imagination, but then we noticed that the behavior had worsened and become consistent. Whether in heat pump or A/C mode, the roof units would start and operate ok, but then run continuously. I checked and found that the propane furnace behaved in the same way-- it would start in response to the thermostat set point, but would not shut off automatically. All units would only stop if manually shut off.
I have now reached the point where my roof units will not even start. The furnace will start and run, but will not shut off unless it is switched off manually.
I have three units misbehaving in similar ways, two of them powered by 110VAC, and the third powered by 12VDC and propane. The common point I see is the thermostat, so that is where my analysis leads me.
Has anyone had similar problems?
If I just buy a replacement 5-button thermostat will it plug and play? Or do I need to specify particular model numbers of the controlled units? I can find no model or part number at all on the thermostat.
Thanks for the help.

John

John, the first step would be to reset the thermostat. Below is the correct reset procedure for the 5-button CCC thermostat. One caution, be sure to turn off ALL florescent lights before doing the reset as they can interfere with the procedure.

16. SYSTEM RESET
a. Turn the ON/OFF switch to “OFF” position.
b. Simultaneously depress and hold the MODE and ZONE
push-buttons while turning the ON/OFF switch to “ON”.
FF should appear in the LCD display until the MODE
and ZONE push-buttons are released.
c. When a dip switch is turned on or off after initial configu
ration, a system reset will need to be done before the
Comfort Control CenterTM will recognize the updated selection
