Heart Interface Freedom 15

Can anyone out there give me a quick tutorial on this charger / inverter. My main concern is with the remote control and charging. My questions presentoly are:

Is it a fully automatic charger?

Do you need to have the green led lit at the charge button for charging to start?

I ask because the battery status indicators show fully charged when the led is not lit but when I press charge the led lights and the status of the batteries drops to low charge. Any insight would be appreciated. I have looked throughout the manuals and there is nothing that mentions the remote control and its functions.

Dave,
Based on your questions, I take it you have a Heart Interface Freedom 15 "plus" the Link 1000 Control center. The buttons you refer to are only on the Link 1000 Control Center. The main unit is described in the Freedom Inverter Owners manual (http://www.xantrex.com/documents/Dis...ner_manual.pdf). Use of the Link 1000 unit is described in a seperate manual (http://www.altestore.com/store/Meter...er%20Guide.pdf)

Operation on the main unit capabilities is under control on the Link 1000. This means you have to understand the capabilities/featues of the main unit and then use the Link 1000 manual to uderstand how those capabilites are controlled.

For your first question "Is it a fully automatic charger?" the answer is Yes (main manual page 13) as long as the LED above the Charge/PWR Share button is lit (Page 40 of the Link 1000 Manual) on the Link 1000.

"Do you need to have the green led lit at the charge button for charging to start?" Yes (Page 40 of the Link 1000 Manual).

I suspect you did not know about the Link 1000 manual and the remote described in the main manual does not have the button you asking about.
