We have an 2001 Alfa Ideal with a Coleman heat pump for AC. With the outside temp at 85 and the inside temp at 85 the AC is putting out 77 degree air at the register. I am sure that if we did not have the AC on the inside temp would be at least 95. Is this weak performance right for these units or do I need to have the unit checked out?

Thanks

Dave

A general rule of thumb is:
the air temp coming out of the air conditioner cold air duct should be about 20-25 degrees cooler then the room air going into the air conditioner---after it has run long enough to become stable.
