OK, here's the deal.
While up in the great Pacific NorthWest, my Heat Pump gave up the ghost. I just got time to check it out and when i pulled it out, here is what I found.

It literally fell apart while trying to get it out of the housing. Unlike most of the pics I have seen, the WSX-7 appears to be intact and not burnt/melted. Hence my question.
I ordered a new Cap, received it yesterday.
It states it is a hard start cap and relay. Has 2 wires. Diagram shows it going directly from itself to the run capacitor.

Do I still need to put the WSX-7 Motor starter (shown above) in the line??? Or does the built in relay take its place?? Below is the pic of the new capacitor. For anyone who really knows their way around the HVAC repair, the new cap is a Suppco SPP6

Sacs,

I'd hook it up the same way the original one was. If I'm not mistaken, what you're calling a relay is actually a PTCR (temperature control resistor) which was probably in the circuit already.

I've attached a copy of the wiring for my heat pumps (Coleman or RVP), maybe it'll help for reference, yours may be similar.

Not too sure why this was moved from MH problems, solutions, and aftermarket area, but I am sure that was a better area for it. It is definitely a problem, I am asking about an aftermarket part and I am looking for a solution.
Oh well, I am about to follow Happycarz and just stop coming to this site. It has gone downhill ever since the new owner took over. But then, thats just MHO

Sacs, the hard start kit that you have posted a photo of will replace the start capacitor and motor starter originally used.

I am guessing that the reason the post was moved out of the Motor home Problem and Solution section is that this appliance is also used on non motorized units. I have been on this website since the beginning and I have seen all the changes; some good, some not, but we are better now than we were then and continue to make improvements as time and technology changes.

It seems to me this thread is about air conditioners (an appliance) and not specific to motorhomes in any way. The fact that the a/c may have been installed in a motorhome is not the determining factor for the best place to post the question.

Guys, I'd like to ask that we all consider future members when trying to understand the best place to post a thread. If someone comes along and is reviewing past discussions on air conditioner issues I think it's nice of us to have those all grouped together. I'll pass on some feedback to the Mod team regarding your complaint. Maybe we need to define what goes where in the forum descriptions better so this confusion won't happen in the future.

Could you please be specific in what has gone downhill? I'd like to hear the details of what you consider to be worse now then a year ago? The more detailed the better on each issue. That way I can take your feedback and look for solutions.

I am laughing right now... will you all look to see WHO has posted in this thread..NOT A SINGLE MEMBER posted.. it was all Admin & Mods..and it proves Sacs point... NO ONE who would know the answer about an AFTERMARKET part that he was asking about has posted because they don't usually scroll down into this area..which by the way.. the name of the forum Sacs posted in is "MH Problems, Solutions, and AFTERMARKET".

Guess I'll break the trend and be the first member to post. Authors putting posts in the "correct" topic is not an absolute, black and white decision. I'll even let y'all in on a dirty little secret. Sometimes I will author a thread and place it in the Newmar Owners forum. I know two things will happen.
1. A moderator will move it to the "correct" forum.
2. A trail will be left in the Newmar Owners forum. This is important to me since I want Newmar owners' opinions.

For me it is a win win situation.

What was your final installation? I have the same issue with my rear AC. I'm trying to find a quick repair. I've located a new capacitor but not the WXS-7 motor starter.

Gordon66... I don't know if SacsTC emailed you back or not (he hasn't posted since May) but I can tell you he received info via email or PM that helped him fix the problem.
I cannot speak positively with what part you may have - but we were able to use the aftermarket part that he mentioned and nothing else- in our case.

I hope this helps!

PS...did he mention in his earlier post where he got it (eBay) and that he bought 3 of them?

I have the same problem as SacsTC did. In fact my capacitor looks just like the one in the picture. Your reply answered my question. I wondered if the motor starter is required with the Suppco SPP6? My next question was where he got it? Your reply answered my question. Thanks for the help.
