Help, no AC!!
New 2016 Itasca Sunstar 27N, picked up,last week. Getting ready for our first short, 3 days, shakedown trip. We are at home, leaving tomorrow and turned on the AC to check it, since it was about 78 today. It was 74 inside when I turned it on, shut the all windows etc.. Came back about two hours later and it was 84. It is a Coleman single AC ceiling unit with a wall thermostat, we also got the heat pump. I have had this model on my View, so I believe I know how to use it. Seems to be blowing warm or just the outside air around. Fan works, vents work, but no cold or even cool air. Later when it cooled off outside it seemed to circulate cooler air, but that was because the outside air was cooler, again nothing close to cold air. I checked the roof and sides for condensation that always seem to result on my other motor homes, but seemed to be bone dry. Also, when I tested the electric heat pump, the AC unit came on, can't remember if my other unit did that. But I thought that when the heat pump was on, for heating, that the ceiling vents would dispense hot air, but the air was again just neutral. At the same time, the floor vents, were dispensing heat. I thought the floor vents only did that when you used the gas/propane option. Any suggestions about the AC would be greatly appreciated. Obviously, no dealer is open tomorrow, being Sunday.
Thanks

It sounds like the compressor is not kicking in. Do you hear the hum when it starts??

Did it work at the Dealer on your PDI?
Or did you skip the PDI?

No AC
To respond to both questions. We for sure hear the fan and and hear a humming outside, but not loud so I think the compressor is kicking in, I will check. Yes, at the walk through they turned it on, but it was cold out and we were in sweats so they did not run it for very long at all. Again the fan and vents operated, but the air in our environment was cool so we could not tell if the AC was kicking out cold air. That was bad on our part not to have them run it longer.

Could it be as simple as a fuse or breaker?

You should be able to tell if the compressor is on by looking at the AC current draw vs/ just the fan. If on and not cooling, possible a Freon leak.

In an RV AC system, if the fan is running doesn't that mean the compressor is on in the cool mode? We do have the heat pump.
Thanks

I am thinking that it is a freon leak.

The inside fan/blower could be running but not the compressor.

When you stated "that's what happened to me" are your referring to no freon or fan running but no compressor? Got up on the roof seems like the Coleman unit is running. Not sure if it is the fan or the compressor?

If the fan is running it has power. If condensate isn't draining either its low on freon which I doubt, or for whatever reason the compressor isn't running.
They have had a lot of start capacitor problems in the past.
If I were you I would turn the unit off for several minutes Then restart it and listen carefully for the compressor to start a few seconds after the fans. If the compressor tries to start but clicks off in a couple of seconds I'd check the run capacitor. Otherwise, I'd call a repairman.
