Help! Slide gear not engaging!

We were ready to head out today and went to pull in the kitchen slide. We heard gears grinding and slipping and then the slide came in but wouldn't stay tight. Ran it out/in again and same thing. Got under the slide to check it out and the gear on one side is not fully engaged. It barely makes contact (see pic) and slips. It gets snug and no problem as the slide goes out, but as it goes out the gear and slide no longer make tight contact and it can't pull in nor hold at the last couple of inches. Can this gear be adjusted? Tried adjusting the slide height, but no luck. Help!

The thread grabbed my attention as I had a similar issue with my slide but after looking at the picture your slide is totally different. Sorry I can't help. Perhaps adding your make and model or make and manufacturer of the slide you might get better responses.

It's a 2004 Tiffin Allegro Bus 38 TGP.
Not sure on the slide manufacturer.
Thanks.
