i just purchased a 1990 vanguard 5th wheel with a dometic rm2620 fridge. the fridge doesn't get very cold, and now the fridge won't switch to ac when plugged in. checked fuses and breaker box but everything looks good. when turn on it with auto it will go to propane, and won't go to ac.

thanks for any help

First make sure there is power at the receptacle the refrigerator is plugged into. Plug in a blow dryer or drill motor. This should be on a GFCI protected circuit so be sure to check other GFCI receptacles and get power to the one for refrigerator. Let us know if you do have power and it still switches to LP gas mode. Also give us some clue to your diagnostic and use of testing (volt, Ohm, Amp meter) equipment. You may have 120 volt feeding it but the control board does not see it due to a blown fuse. This will be 120 vac and so care must be taken for safety.

Check for power into and out of distribution box (circuit beakers). Let us know what you find.

The fridge plug may not be a GFI but it maybe off a GFI in kitchen or bathroom if not direct feed from your load center which it should have been.

yeah there are no gfi's. The outside plug, the bathroom plug and a plug in the trailer don't work. should i look at the converter?? would there be an inline fuse for each side of trailer?? the other plugs all work fine. someone had mentioned that there is a small fuse behind the converter??

thanks for all your help
David

All your 110 outlets should be wired out of your load center each appliance having its own circuit breaker.
With the power off open your load center box and check the wiring connecting screws and make sure everything is tight.
Also check the ground buss for all the screws there.
