Hot Water Heater

Just replaced the drain plug in my Hot water heater with a drain valve for a radiator. No more trying to get a wrench behind the Gas regulator to drain it for winterizing. Now I just turn the valve and because it's brass I can solder a small piece of copper tubing in it so the water runs outside instead of all over the water heater causing it to rust.

If it is a Atwood and you replaced the plastic plug.
They use the plastic one for a reason.

Good one jimbo16720. Some guys have also uses 1/2" plumbing nipples and small on/off shower ball valves as a drain technique (bigger holes than the brass petcock).
