I have a 02 Itasca Suncruiser 35U/W22 with a Atwood 10 Gal LP/Elect. Water heater Mod # GCH10A-3E. Well to make a long story short, just out of blue, water ceased coming out of the Hotwater side of both the Kitchen and Bathroom faucets. When I turn it to the bypass mode I get water out of both sides but is cold. When turned back to NORMAL on bypass I get nothing. Heater is working because I can get hot water out of the bottom drain of tank. I removed Input line and water is getting to Heater but is not coming out. What can get clogged on the output side. I cannot remove the output line to see if anything will come out of the tank, (No room in back of heater to work).
Does this sound familiar to anyone. I have checked and re-checked all of the valves and they are in the same position that they were for the last 3 years with no problems, but I get no water out of the Hot water side neither hot nor cold. This Forum is the greatest thing since Skippy Peanut Butter. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or comments. Hope ya-all have a Very Very Happy New Year.

Sounds like the check valve may be stuck and will need be be replaced. It is on the back side of the heater and you will have to find a way to either remove the fitting with the heater in its present position or if there is enough slack in piping to pull the heater out of the wall to get to them.

Thanks Wizard,
I finally got the fittings out from the back of the water heater and both check valves were defective with the keeper off the spindle & spring. I removed all the guts out of both check valves and hooked it back up and working fine. You have to be some sort of contortionist to work back there but after all the cussing and raising ****, I managed. Now I understand that the only purpose of the check valves are for winterizing purposes. If thats the case and there is no other need of them, than I am not going to worry about replacing them with new ones as I never winterize my coach anyway.
Thanks again for the response.
