Hot water heater won't work on 120 volt

I have a 2008 Holiday Rambler VactionerXL. I am a daily reader of this forum. Today is my day to post and I know that you will have some troubleshooting leads for me to follow.
I have been using the 120v hot water heater consistently while we are parked at a place for the night.
I usually turn it on when we go to bed so we have hot water first thing in the morning.
This morning, the 120v light was not on, checked circuit breaker, reset it to make sure it wasn't tripped, still won't work, so I ended up using the propane side. Works ok on that.

Any assistance would be helpful thank you.

I am not sure of your setup. Mine has 12 volts controlling a relay that controls 120 volts to the heating element. Check your 12 volt fuses for a water heater fuse then check the heating element with an ohmmeter, it's around 13 ohms make sure it is disconnected when you check it. Then check for 12 vdc and 120 vac at the relay if you have one if that is good check for 120 volts at the heater element with the switch on. Other will be along with other advice. Do a search of the forum this is a common problem.

My water heater works as redcolorado described. The light in the switch burned out, but the water still heated on 120. So try your heater on 120. It could just be the light that's bad.

Sometime we overlook the simple solutions. Even though the OP mentioned the lamp I did not think of it because I do not have one. Good catch.

Sometimes it's the simple things, and we don't check them first because we always think it has to a bigger issue.

Glad you got it resolved.
