are you still getting hot water? Could it be a light that comes on when the unit is heating water?

The light comes on when it fails to light. Turn it off for a few seconds and try again. If the light still comes on, and stays on, you may need to clean the water hear gas orifice.

Or maybe clean the burner tube, on mine it is a tube with a 90 degree bend in it. Mine was clogged with carbon deposits and spider webs. After cleaning, it works again. And that was of course from instructions I got here on this forum.

On my 5er with both propane and electric, there was no light for the AC switch. The propane light came on briefly when I turned it on, then went out after a successful light. The only time it stayed on is when the propane didn't light, and that was only after sitting with the gas turned off for a long time.

Sounds like you need to reseat all electrical connectors first, if it just started doing this.

Does the propane act like mine did? And is the propane switch off when it does this? Is it the same light that comes on when you turn on propane?

Make and model would be helpful. When my Attwood red light goes on, it means that the system is in lock up . There is a method to unlock it in the manual. See page 19 of this manual http://bryantrv.com/docs2/docs/atwoodwaterheater.pdf .
