Hours Batteries

I've been shopping for 3 new house batteries, Group 31. The best price I've found is at Batteries Plus. The model number is SLI31MDC for $109.94. They tell me they are built by Excide and are a true deep cycle type. Has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with these batteries from BATTERIES PLUS. My coach is a 06 Winnebago Journey, 36 foot, Thank you.

Group 31's...can you get away with 24's or 27's? I have not tried the Excides but they're probably on parr with the Napas that I put in. I actually got a Walmart starting batt. for the boat last year and I'm happy with it. If I had to buy deep cycles again I'd consider the 24's from Walmart @ roughly $60.00 apiece.

31s are good size and if true deep cycle a decent price.

Have dealee provide the datasheet before you buy so you can confirm they are storage batteries and not starting batteries.

Exide says the 31MDC is a true deep cycle battery. 110 AH,@20 hour rate.
If you can only fit 3, it's a good way to go.
Many of us, prefer 6 volt GC2 batteries but they need to be in pairs.

I have had my Excide batteries going on five years. No problems. Pardon the upside down pic. Apple has their own idea of which end is up compared to the rest of the world.

Even upside down, I can see that they are 6 volt batteries.
Pretty much all 6 volt batteries are deep cycle, which is what we need for house loads.

Some of the 12 volt ones are labeled as dual purpose and are not actually built as robust as true deep cycle batteries. That's why you need to pay carefully attention to the specs.

Exide builds batteries for several companies brand name - TO THEIR SPECIFICATIONS! Do not assume they will perform as well as Exide branded batteries. Those are true deep-cycle batteries with a 200AH capacity. I have 3 in my house battery tray.
WalMart does not make batteries, they have them made to their specifications by one of the battery mfgrs, just like Batteries Plus.
