"House" 12 volt system malfunction....

The coach is plugged into shore power, the house batteries are fully charged, at least according a hydrometer. Yet all 12 volt lights and other systems are clearly not getting 12 volts and they are flashing...on/off on about a 3 second cycle.

What is between the house batteries and the "house " circuits that is malfunctioning?

Could be a main line 12v, self re-setting circuit breaker in your coach.

Mine has a 135 amp fuse, between the batteries and the distribution cable.
Could be that your coach has a circuit breaker in the converter , does the problem persist if you disconnect from shore power?

What type and year of coach do you have?
Type of converter?

As Skip said, it sounds like it could be a self resetting circuit breaker. Our traveling buddies had a similar problem with their Coachmen. We hunted and hunted and finally found one hidden away in a compartment. Turned out to be a loose connector on it that was causing a heat buildup, which in turn kicked out the breaker.

Our coach is a 2010 Damon Astoria, I'd didn't list it cuz I figured this was a generic issue.

That said, today I pulled all of the "house" 12 volt fuses and the problem persists.......sounds like a Skip426 has identified the problem...now if only I can find that main circuit breaker!

Thanks soo much for your help!

Bob you didn't mention if you had tried disconnecting form shore power , to see if the problem was still there?
If there is a self resetting C/B in the power cable from the house batteries, it will be within 3 feet of the batteries , wiring rules allow only the starter cable to be longer than 3 feet from the battery, without a C/B or fuse. So go to the coach batteries while the problem is occurring and listen for the " snap " that the C/B makes when it trips.
Good Luck .
