House voltage

Hello all. After running into some antenna power supply trouble, I decided to upgrade to the sensar pro. Works great until the converter kicks on then just flashes. I checked voltage at the sensar, 15.5v, turn off converter voltage normal. With the converter on, voltage at battery 13.7. Battery is good and connections clean. Working on a 97 forest river wildwood 5er. Why is there such a big difference? Looks like a 6300 Magnatec converter, could it be bad? Thanks for any suggestions, Brandon

The wire that feeds the battery is normal voltage out of the converter, the wire that feeds the fuse box is too high. I believe the converter is bad.

Voltage that high can damage the 12 volt control boards in the fridge, A/C, water heater (if spark ignition), as well as radio, CO detector, etc.

Personally, I would leave the converter unpowered while you wait for a new one to be installed.

I have it disconnected and removed, the replacement will be here in a few days. I was just having a hard time figuring out why the voltage was different, but i know the converter is bad now. And that voltage did fry my new sensar pro.
