How do I know if my Charger, Converter is working?

So I've noticed that when I am running my generator that my house batteries (2 6v Trojan T105's) are not charging. I've checked all my fuses etc and everything is good. The Charger, Converter has 2 30amp fuses that are both good. When I measure at the plug receptacle where the Charger plugs in I'm getting 120v. When I check at the terminals where the battery leads come in I'm getting 12v. When I turn on the generator and measure the leads that come from the battery it never goes over about 12.65v. I would think that the Converter, Charger would be showing 13+ volts? Any idea what is going on? I've pulled my Converter, charger to take it to the dealer tomorrow and see if maybe they can test it with a load or differently somehow..

Here is what my Charger, Converter looks like..

Here are a few auto reset switches I think. When tested we get 12v

How do I know if my Charger, Converter is working?

Put a meter on the batteries. Note the 12vdc voltage. Apply shore power or generator power. The voltage at the batteries should go up, usually around a volt depending on the condition and state of charge of the batteries. If no change the converter is not putting out, and if no bad fuse or connection from converter to batteries (check for voltage change at the converter), then check for good 120vac input to the converter. If no 120vac, troubleshoot that circuit.

Be sure your batteries are good. Full of water? Check specific gravity. Do or have done a breakdown test on them.

When you are on Shore power or gen Power test the voltage coming out of the converter at the back it should be around 13.6v if its not converter is bad

Ok, that converter is only 55 amp. after running the generator you have around 50 amps.. So with a pair of GC-2, you can suck 60-70 amps so it might take a while for the voltage to rise. Still I'd think it would hit 13.6 fairly fast (Float voltage)

If you have 13.6 at the converter and only 12.6 (or less) at the batteries you have a disconnect some where, Fuse, Switch or solenoid, broken wire, or screw/nut loose. (Very comm for RVers to have screws/nuts loose).

The tag on the converter tells the story, 13.6 VDC output.

You should see that at the converter terminals with the cables off.

With the cables on, as long as the batteries are not completely dead, you should see that voltage at the batteries. If not, give it a half hour to climb to 13.6.

Since its out and questionable, pick up a 3 or 4 stage converter. They treat your batteries to a better charge regiment.

Looks like you nailed it quickly. And as suggested, perhaps a bit smarter one if the budget will allow.

The thing has goesindas but no goesouttas. I am assuming you measured the voltage on both sides of both fuses. Using the little bit of metal that shows on top of each leg that is.
