How to pull water heater from 99 Vectra

Folks,
I have a water drip behind the water heater in my 99 Winnebago Vectra. I must be missing something, we have managed to slid the heater out about 3 inches but then it stops. I have basement AC and the duct work keeps me from seeing much. I think I I may have to remove the bulkhead that devides the water heater and forward compartment. We have the gas connection out of the way and I think I have slack in the water lines, electric disconnected but still stops after about three inches.

You will need to remove the waterlines first. Below the water heater under the compartment floor should be an access panel that when removed will allow you to reach up to the waterline connections. In fact if it is just a bad fitting connection you may be able to fix the drip without having to pull the tank out. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hey Mike, thanks for the reply. Looks like the box is aluminium and does not have an access plate. I did think about cutting one on the backside but figure I would cut into something since I am not sure what else might be there. At the top of the box I have a steel line piped in, thought this is the gas line. Having a plate there sure would be nice.
