Am I the only one who has a hurricane heating system? haveing a hard time finding anyone who knows anything about this system. I am haveing problems with my hot water or should i say lack of. Its lukewarm. We just returned from a trip and it was working fine until last few days. Replaced annode, no luck. Does not work either by elect or when heating system is on. Thinking maybe there is a thermostat somewhere. Hoping that a reader out with me. there may have expierienced same problem and would not mind sharing. I have a 2000 beaver patriot.

First you will need to access the actual holding tank to be sure the water is up to good temperature (125 - 140 degrees). If so, the heating system is fine but the mixing valve is stuck and allowing too much cold water mixed into the hot water line leaving the Hurricane. If you will send me the model number and an email address I can send you a pdf file on your Hurricane.

Hurricane closed hydronic diesel fuel sysstem, model c045D. Sounds like I am mixing cold and hot water. I have the manual on the system but cannot find no mention of a mixing valve. I do know that while camping the wife was using the outside shower to wash the dog. This was about the time that we started noticing the water was not as hot as it used to be. Yesterday i checked the coach and shower valve was open. I closed it, run the heater water got hot to touch. Barely hot. Not as hot as it used to be. Before you would burn yourself without mixing cold water for right temp.

Mixing valve is inside the Hurricane unit. Looks something like this: Amazon.com: Honeywell R-AM-101C-US-1 Thermostatic Mixing Valve: Home Improvement
