Do you leave water in hw tank after camping or drain it .

I don't usually bother draining it unless it's going into storage for the season.

leaving the water in the HWH was never a problem for us, during the normal usage season, but off-season storage; we drained it, bypassed and proceeded with proper winterizing, leaving the anode rod removed from the tank, to allow it to air dry.

I do the same as the previous posts. I run some water through the Water Heater once week or so to keep it from picking up a metallic odor from the anode. (This is using city water in the water tank).
