HWH Jacks

It makes since to me that my jacks can pick up dirt when retracting jacks. My question is! Is there a filter to change or do I drain and strain my oil?

I do not believe there is a filter. If you are collecting dirt through the jack cylinder seals then you are mostly likely also leaking oil. Many people recommend using a silicone spray on the clyinder to help keep clean and lubed.

How could dirt get in, except through the fill cap? Oil under high pressure at the jack seal, nothing to force the dirt past that. HWH has a "secret" filter in the oil reservoir. No user serviceable parts. Clean the top of the reservoir before adding oil.
HWH recommends using WD 40 sprayed on, wiped off with clean rag. Use cotton cue tips to clean the hydraulic ram/ jack body seal area of dirt once in a while. Especially if the jacks been down for a while or is used a lot. There is a rubber stripper gasket there that catches dirt off the ram as the jack retracts.

There is no pathway from there to the system.

You may be thinking the cylinder rises and air comes in along the sides maybe?

They are single acting with the seal at the face with a wiper to keep crud out.

If used in a dirty spot spray them off so wiper has less to do and be good.
