Your Hydro-Hot is a closed system which contains antifreeze which when heated, is distributed to exchangers by pumps and can be used for heat throughout the winter.

Yes, absolutely.
The domestic water "loop" is completely independent of the heat register fluid/coolant which is already an antifreeze solution. The domestic loop is the item of concern in winterizing, as it is a coiled loop and just can't be blown and must be pinked.

Thanks Ray...But does the anti-freeze in the water loop expand and do any damage? As the water system is winterized withe pink stuff.

So, technically, the pink stuff when heated (and it will be heated when furnace is on) will expand. So yes to that part of your question. It will simply expand a half inch or so up into the water lines - both upstream and downstream. Will there be damage? No, not even close and not even potentially a consideration.

I use Camco boiler anti-freeze and is good to (-100 deg. F) there is no chance of freezing unless you have a breach of the water line where it passes thru the hydro hot where it's heated and the anti-freeze is diluted.

On Edit: I forgot to mention that your Hydro-Hot has an expansion tank which serves as a fill point for your anti-freeze.
