I never use the Converter.....Do you?

Even when I'm plugged into shore power I never have to use the converter. I don't conserve energy at all really. Matter of fact I often use the inverter to power a floor fan just because of the outlet access. I did have to wire the new converter to it's own breaker just for the option of leaving it off. My solar is much better at charging the batteries than the converter anyways. Over the past weekend I don't think the batteries went below 95%.

200watts solar w/ 400 amp/hrs of batteries.

I usually leave ours on. We have 400 watts of solar and 4-230 amp hour 12V house batteries and 4-925 CCA starting batteries

I seldom have the converter on in the PA with 600w solar on the roof. The Morningstar solar controller is much better for the batteries than the converter.

That's my take as well. I did upgrade from the Magnetek but probably wouldn't have if I knew then.......
