Ice Maker Feed Hose Leak

We have a Dometic NDR1062 fridg with an ice maker that has sprund a leak. The hose that runs from the solinoid to the ice maker has ruptured. The leak is in a lodation where it is impossible to simple cut out the bad section. Has anybody have the experience of trying to replace this hose?? It travels out of sight up behind the fridge and I see no way to replace it. Any help?

Not sure about a Dometic, but on our Norcold you would have to pull the fridge out to replace it--just had it out to put a cooling unit in.

Good luck,

John

John is correct, the unit will have to be pulled to repair. Now, this line is never under pressure unless the nozzle through the wall freezes up. This is caused by a weeping water valve. If you find that the nozzle is frozen, replace the valve and thaw out the nozzle. When this happens most if not all the time the tubing is just pushed out of the fitting of the nozzle and when the ice maker calls for water, it all runs down the backside of the refrigerator.

Our Dometic is installed with upper and lower vents in the outside wall (no roof vent). I was able to drop a weighted string from the top vent to the bottom vent and fish up a new feed line to the icemaker.
