Where can I find a complete ice maker replacement for a Dometic side by side refer/freezer? The Dometic model # is NDA 1402. I have searched Lowe's, Home Depot, ebay, and online but to no avail. Dometic doesn't even list a repllacement unit. Since the Dometic has a through the door ice dispenser and water dispenser, I will need the complete unit.
Any and all help would be appreciated.
HAGD,
Alex

Though the electrical connections may be a bit different, that's why the God of Electricians invented cut and splice.

The Ice maker is a standard U-Line, most any U-line model will fit and work the same.. Just the plug and socket need to be adapterd.

Removal of the fridge may not be necessary.. Oh, and I just thought of another difference between the RV units and the standard U-line, actually it's a non-difference.

You only need to remove the fridge IF you need to run a new water inlet line (Solenoid to inside freezer. or run new wires, If the problem is the mechenical part failed,, That's accessed from inside the RV and the solenoid, outside.

Now, the other difference, note that this may not be the case in YOUR install.

On mine there is a very large aluminum bracket on the bottom of the unit.. This is simply removed, and transferred to the new one,, It is not part of the standard Ice maker, it's a modification, after market type, Dometic installed.. It is also the only UNIQUE Dometic part of the install.. And it comes off and goes on the new one.

It is a heat transfer device to speed operation.

I checked the sites some of you posted and couldn't find what I needed. After contacting Dometic, the replacement parts are on the way.
Again, thanks to all of you for your suggestions.
Happy camping to all !
Alex

I recently replaced the icemaker in our Norcold 1200 with a Whirlpool unit I bought at Lowes, of course it's not one of those through the door type.

Dometic had to get the icemaker unit from some supplier, have you called them for help in finding a replacement unit?

Just a thought, good luck

i bought a new icemaker at lowes
but the end connector is different, which is no big deal ...but the wire colors are differnt
it has a black, green, yellow and a green with yellow stripe

my fridge end is black a/c pwr
white return a/c pwr
green ground and brown to actuate the water valve

i just need to know what the yellow wire is for and the light blue.

thanks

Is what you are looking at actually a pigtail that is plugged into the connect? I bought a Maytag at Best Buy a few days ago and they new ice maker had a 9" pigtail plugged in. I removed the pigtail and plugged in the Norcold 1200 wiring.

its a hard wired pigtail about 9 inches long
i opened up teh unit to trace which wires went were but no schematic was inside
i did verify the green is ground and black is a/c hot feed
but still cant figure out which one is the water valve turn on feed
the light blue or the yellow
guts tell me the yellow is the return a/c line, but would hate the plug it in wrong.

The dispenser is actually seperate from the ice maker.

Last time I checked (2006 as I recall) the official parts depot for Dometic was Camping World.. Of course, getting them to orde r the right part is a bit rough.

I've been fairly good at finding alternative suppliers.

I will say this: The ice maker water solenoid.. These things are dang near universal,
