Yeah, I wouldn't take the word of a tow truck driver either. Always verify before believing.

I believe it is against the law to dump waste on the road. The people who pump out septic tanks would be in big trouble if hauling was against the law.

He must have known about it as you could see him looking in his mirror and laughing as vehicles passed.
If it's not illegal...there darned should be a penalty for dumping while driving
At the very least penalties for not having a locking cap on the drains.

Rant over....
Get any on you ?????

Washington State provides Dump Stations at many (not all) Rest Stops. They must understand you have to drive to the Rest Stop.

I call foul on this one. Every state in the union has septic tank pumper trucks traveling the roads.

If it was illegal for me to travel with a black tank full, define full. We all travel with our tanks containing at least some liquid. That was a bogus statement about it being illegal to travel with a "full" black tank.

I would assume the honey dipper trucks have certified tanks and are registered as authorized waste handlers.

Having said that, I still think the tow truck driver was full of black tank stuff.

Not illegal to travel with full black tanks, but it is to travel with your MH in such disrepair that your black tanks leak on the roadway. That could lead to a hefty fine, and would be considered a haz mat cleanup that you could be charged for.

The tow truck driver might also be the Mayor and after that service call he decided it is now law in his town

I'd ask the tow truck driver if it is against the law for a non-lawyer to give legal advice.

If the RV industry would build in a way that the tanks would stay in place, we wouldn't be having this discussion. If you look at some of them you wonder why they don't fall out when empty. It is not disrepair, just poor quality. I think that any such failure should be reported to the NHTSB, but I doubt they would do much.
