I have been less than diligent about checking for leaks lately. I've been kind of mad at the world over the leak. I probably spent more time complaining about it than actually doing anything about it. Well, time to buck up and face the music!

So.....this evening I went out, and following the sage advice and wisdom imparted on these previous posts, I started at the regulator. Everything looked good and all was intact there. On to the next part........oh oh....

The flexible hose that connects the regulator to the elbow on the black iron pipe had a section about 8" long that had the outer layer of rubber that was worn almost all the way through. The fabric layer was exposed.

The hose was bent in a 90* arc and the apex of the bend was in contact with the inside of the part of the basement wall that houses the propane tank. Remember the undercoating? I was quite rough where the hose contacted the wall and wore through. Took all of 3 minutes to find.

Now, all I have to do is find a replacement and get that installed.
