Intellitect EMS Clicking

I have searched old threads and have not found an answer. I have an 08 Winnebago Voyage with an Intellitect Powerline 2400 Energy Management System(EMS). Have used motorhome half time since our purchase in September of 16. We have been plugged into 30 Amp at several campgrounds and 20 amp at some friends off and on. Now we are plugged into new location (daugter's) 20 garage circuit and we notice that the EMS unit is clicking regularly. I have selected the 20 amp on the EMS board. I have cut shore power and turned off the battery disconnect to reset the system but it still clicks. The readout consistently is showing a 4 amp draw for some reason. We are running nothing else. It appears to be related to the refrigerator since it goes to 1 amp when I shut refrigerator off. But then will soon return to 4 amp draw all the time.

Am currently running refrigerator on LP for now to see if that makes a difference. (Readout went to 1 amp as soon as switch was made)

Ashamed to say I am not electronic savvy and do not know how to use a meter.

Can the clicking be related to a fault in the 20 amp service at this location since it is the first time we have experienced it? Previous threads have mentioned faulty grounds? Where might I start looking for that area?

Probably a relay shedding a load. We can hear ours when they engage and disengage. 30 seconds or so after we turn on our generator we can hear each of the seven relays engaging.

Does your display show which loads are shed?

Check to make sure all other high current (and shedable) systems are turned off.

If you turn on the generator, what is the amp draw?

Hi Jeffrey; Thanks for the response. Only load since we are on 20 amp is the refrigerator and some lights. Not using anything else including water heater. So there has not been any need for EMS to shed any other appliances. Since I posted the problem I have been running refer on propane and the clicking has stopped. I am thinking it is somehow connected to the refer. We are moving into a campground next week with 30 amp and will see what happens there. Think it might be something to do with my daughter's electrical rather than mine.

Just a couple random thoughts.

I am assuming that you are using a 30->15 amp adaptor. So hopefully you aren't getting near 20 amps. Your adaptor might melt before a breaker trips.

When we first plug in, our battery charger kicks in and ramps up the amps to rapid charge the batteries. That load will decrease as the batteries top off. If we are on 15 amps at that that time, our refrigerator is on propane or the only electrical load. Our charger and EMS are smart enough to de-rate the charger if EMS starts shedding. Our system can also kick in the inverter for short runs over the 30 amp setting. That's always weird when that happens. Seeing 36 amps and nothing bad happens.

When voltage goes low, amps have to go up to make up for the watts drawn by a load. That is very hard on your electronics.

None of these seem to be an issue for your current situation.

Is your RV 30 amp or 50 amp?

Thanks. We have 50 amp but rarely use it since we do lots of state and national parks
