Hi,
I installed a Xantrex XM 1800 Inverter in my Georgetown 370XL. I spliced the output from the Inverter into a 20A cicuit that feeds 5 regular autlets. One of the outlets also feeds my WFCO WF-9855 Converter which is located in the rear next to the automatic transfer switch
(LYGHT POWER SYSTEM PT50CA). Now when I run the Inverter the converter wants to supply and charge the 12V system at the same time.
A schematic from Forest River would help.

Unplug the converter when running on inverter power OR, transfer that outlet to another circuit.

If you cannot easily change the outlet or unplug the converter you should be able to install a switch to turn 120 vac on and off to the converter. Be sure to follow National wiring codes.

I did, and it works fine. I still do not understand why Forest River put the converter on a regular 20A outlet.
Thanks for your help.

The converter has to be plugged to some 120v outlet - it just happened they chose the same one you wanted to use for the inverter.

By the way, make sure you never turn the inverter on when shore power is also powering that circuit. You will get a lot of expensive smoke if that ever happens! It would be best to put a double pole, double throw switch at the junction point so that it can never happen by accident.
