From reading, it seems that MSW will still power our tv and sat receiver fine. All else we need to run is a small fan and music player. The Xantrex freedom units get mostly good reviews, I was thinking the 1800W one for $480 on amazon. Anybody had problem with good quality MSW inverter not running an LCD tv ok?

Actually for what you plan to use it for that's a great inverter/charger.

I don't think you can go wrong with that one.

Took 3 evenings of work, but got it all installed and hooked up! New inverter/charger, new sub-panel with just wall outlets powered by inverter, 2 additional 6 volt batteries, and a new auto gen start!

I'm sure I'll have to tweak the EC-30W settings a little for the genny to not run too long or short, but I'm heading out tomorrow for SEC Tournament in ATL and will be boondocking downtown all weekend, so glad it's all hooked up beforehand for worry-free boondockin Thanks for all the tips fellas.

jdwky: Just where can you boondock in downtown ATL? Or where would you WANT to? I'm watching the games but can't spot you. My bad. You said tomorrow.

There's an RV/Bus surface lot just a block north from the Dome. I like to keep my vacation home near where I party

Thanks. I found it on Google Earth. I've been within a few feet of the place on Marietta hundreds of times and never knew it was there.

By your description of the issue, it sounds like you may have to do a few more mods to your system as far as how it's wired. But all this is very possible and as I understand how the system works in our 2012 Providence 42P, it works exactly the way you want your system mod to work.

I've found numerous wiring examples on line when exploring ways to build my home stand alone system, including solar panels in the system.

I wouldn't try to describe the best way to accomplish what you are trying to do without a clear picture in mind of your project. I would check out the subject referencing (inverter/charger wiring). I'm sure you'll find exactly what you are looking for, I did. hope that helps

Thanks DTW. Actually got it all hooked up back in march. See post 46. Works great and everything is seamless.

Great news,

Seems that happens to me a lot, late on the help, I guess it takes a little long for the threads to fill in for me here...
