I own a 2005 jayco and after we had a real heavy rain i noticed a drip coming from the filter,so i took the filter off and tightened up the rubber seal. It did this one other time and i did the same thing and it seemed to work, but now im thinking how did the water get that far? Did i do the right thing or do i also have go up top and do some caulking? If so what do i caulk and also how much the rubber seal be tightened? Any help on this would be appreciated. thanx.

As the seal wears it compresses and does need to be retightened. Common. Just do not over tighten it or you will have more leaks. Go buy a new seal and install it next time you see a bit of water.
