This one should be simple but it has not been for me. My RV has an outside door and a screen door mounted just inside the outside door. There are a pair of magnets that keep the screen door connected to the outside door when the door is open.

The outside door never opens the screen door anymore so we have two doors to open to come in or go out. I have replaced the magnets but luck. The screen door has a new roller latch and it is stiff (which is good because it keeps our cats from pushing the door open) and is stronger than the magnets.

So the question is this - is there a good way to connect the two doors together that allows for easy separation when we want the screen in place but the outside door open.

Any ideas are welcomed - thanks for your help.

I have seen this many times, even on high end coaches. The latch seems to become misaligned and won't hold. i would try and replace the latch. I looked on Google there are many differant types..Good Luck...D

Mine has a plastic mechanical latch, no magnets, I'm sure they are availible after market.

I knew this was the right place to ask. So simple. I can hardly wait for it to arrive so I can put this problem behind me.

THANKS!

Make sure you get the latch kit with the jamb stop. Unless your door jamb already has the bump built into it. And make sure you get the swing right. (right or left handed)
