Disconnecting the coach battery for a period of time should work but the device may also have a memory.

1) There are two power circuits: memory and "on"
2) There may not be handy fuses for just these two circuits (wiring diagrams here)
3) I can't imagine current draw from a radio that is turned off being significant when you are boondocking. In storage, maybe.

We have a Pleasure-Way with an outside TV/Kenwood radio/DVD.
Noticed every time I use the battery disconnect switch the radio power goes on when reconnecting the battery switch.
Not sure how much power it uses but needed to stop the automatic on.

Found a fuse/electrical board for the RV where you can physically pull the wire from the power distribution board.
Good temporary fix.
Permanent fix was to cut the wire and install a switch.

Hi Mark,

When I use the salesman switch it turns off.

Was also asking as my wife asked can we off the display.

Hi Paddy,

Installing a switch would do also.

Your coach is supposed to have a switch on the dash to switch between 12V sources: chassis and house batteries. According to the wiring diagram (link here) (Sheet 5, Zone B-2, PDF page 6), the part number is 154638-07. According to the Winnebago Part Catalog (link here) (page 71, PDF page 72), that part number is an ON-OFF-ON switch.

If that is correct, and your coach has this switch, left is HOUSE, middle is OFF and right is ENGINE (chassis). Give that a try!

Hi Mark,

I do indeed have that switch. It does not have middle setting, its either engine or chassis, this is for the dash stereo. When set to engine and the ignition is off it kills the stereo.

The one I am trying to turn off is a bedroom dvd player/stereo. I forgot to say it was in the bedroom.

I added a switch right below the unit to cut power. I also added one to the tv amplifier as my big tv covers the antenna amplifier

The manual states unit uses 75 watts max, so about 6.5amps.

If I could find out the standby ppwer outage it would help me figure out I need to install a kill switch.

I called Jensen and thwy said Standby uses 6MA, the aupport person was not what this meant so I must presume its Milliamp. Is so that would mean .006 amps.

Does this sound correct?
