Kitchen Sink Drain Leaking

Hi Everyone!
Last spring I replaced the kitchen sink in our motor home. Now, the sink drain leaks a little while traveling. I am pretty sure, when I took the old drain out, there was some sort of glue on the joint.

Does anyone know about how these joints are supposed to be sealed? The common household wedge shaped slip washer I am using is not doing the job.
Thanks,
Pete

Hard to tell without a photo but if its leaking from where I think it's leaking make sure both mating surfaces on the pipes are clean and free of nicks and use a new washer. If they are not nice and smooth you might have to replace the parts. Also make sure all the connections are good and tight.

If it's leaking right where the drain pipe connects to the sink the you might need use some (or more) plumbers putty - available at most any hardware or home improvement store.
This is put on the sink itself, under where the first piece of the drain drops though the hole in the sink - under the flange for that piece.

If it's leaking at one of the trap joints the 60sumtin is probably on the right track with things to check.

I agree a photo would help. I would also add that the joints need to be properly lined up. I use plumbers silicon when assembling the PVC or plastic drains it makes them line up easier.

The alignment may be the issue. It is not perfect. To get it perfect, I will have to cut and reconnect some of that black plastic. I'll have to measure it to see if it is the exact dimensions of the regular PVC I can get at the hardware store.

It is leaking at one of those slip joints. Thanks for all the input. I'll keep working on it!
