My shower faucet has leaked for some time, but recently started spraying more water out the side than through the spray head. I took the handles off and removed the decorative cover. The two faucet bodies (which are white plastic or nylon) seem to be connected by a black plastic tube that feeds the shower hose outlet. This black plastic was split almost the entire length (about 3 inches), allowing water to pretty much go where it wanted to.
Behind the faucets, there is a mostly flat black plastic panel that seems to hold the faucets in place. All of this assembly is in front of a larger, maybe 8" wide by 6" high panel of shower wall color. This panel seems to be held in place by four fasteners which have coverings of the same material. If I pull the coverings off and I find screw heads, and I take the 6x8 panel off, what will I find? Is that where I have to get to to replace the faucet assembly? Will it likely use screw connections or crimp type?
I've been reluctant to go any deeper so far because we use our rig a lot and could be without water if I take too much apart. As it stands, I just have to keep the faucets shut off, keeping the shower dry but unusable.
I tried a strong glue to seal the black tube, and was somewhat successful, but still with some leakage.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. More glue? Replace the whole unit? Replace just the black tube?

Ken there should be a acess panel ont he wall oppisite of the faucet. After removing the acess plate you should see where the two water lines connect. After yu turn off the water, you should be able to disconnect the water lines. Then on the threaded part the water lines were connected there should be two larger plastic nuts that you can remove. After you remover the nuts that hold the faucet in, you should be able to pull the faucet out from the other side of the wall.
Most RV supply places should have a faucet in stock to replace the one you removed. Or if you do like I do open up the panel and get a GOOD look-see of the faucet and take a few pictues. Bring the pictures with you to compare the replacement to the one in your rig now. That way you only take it apart once and change it.
It is not really a tough job. Just if you have not done it before it can scare ya....
But look on the good side. After you change it and everything is fine...... You can pat yourself on the back for saving a few hard earned bucks doing it yourself!

Neither of my two Winnebagos have had access panels other than the one on the shower wall.
Both have a panel on the wall of the shower with plastic caps over screws and after the caps and screws are removed, the access panel and fixture will pull out. There is enough tubing length to get the assembly out far enough to disconnect the tubing from the faucet.
I don't think Winnebago has used crimp connectors. If they did it was before 96.
Both of mine have had screw-on type fittings.

Clay,
Thanks for the leak update. I put a little more glue on it to make it through this trip, but will need to do something more permanent when we get home. So far on the trip it has been a small worry. We lost brakes (NC), the generator (ME), transmission (PA), and radiator (PA) so far. We've been stuck in a motel in Wilkes Barre PA for 12 days and counting. They got the transmission in, but have not tested it. They got three radiators, with one the wrong size, one with a broken fitting, and the third this morning if we're lucky. Oh, and the furnace motor does not run fast enough to move the sail switch (GA).
Thanks again,
