Hello,

I run into a problem which I don't quite understand. WHen we go to places that have electric hook up. We find that the interior lights dim most of the time and without any warning, brighten up for a few minutes and then go dim again. I check for things obvious but cannot find anything wrong. Can anyone out there help or suggest anything I can do?

Thanks and Regards

Can you give us a bit more info please, type/model/make of RV and type/model of electric converter. Without sounding snarky, have you "really" checked the state of wiring to your battery with an volt/ohmeter and the tightness of conections? It almost sounds as if your converter is cycling on and off, possibly a low voltage on the battery that the converter can't overcome.

I too suspect the converter charging is causing the bright/dim senerio. Check the condition of the batteries, wiring and connections very well. Don't forget about the grounds.

Reading some of your previous posts I would agree with the others sounds like a gnd. problem. Gnd. wires can be found fasten to many locations on your chassie frame. Up front there may be a long bolt with gnd wires on it supplying gnd for fuse panels, engine computer, cruise control, lighting ckts, etc, etc. Your generator may have a gnd wire locally attach to the frame with a bolt an nut. There will be another gnd for your converter, where ever that is, to the frame. So you can see we have gnd's all around. What I would do, an have done on all my MH's, is look for a bolt with usually several white wires attached to it. I have found loose nuts on bolts allowing you to move the dirty wire connections around. Take the wires off clean them up apply elect. silicon grease to wire connections an reconnect. Look for the gnd near your Gen. an do the samething. All locations I have discribed. Hate to tell you this we are not done. Next its a good idea to check your battery cable connections to both coach an motor terminals, clean these also, you will see the good results of your efforts. ---"007"
