Good afternoon to all. I now have an issue with my Norcold Refrigerator LP gas supply line and have questions. I have been thinking I needed to purge or blow this line much like my water heater line for it has not been auto lighting as of lately. Attempting to pull the flare nut loose from the valve end I didnt notice until it was beyond late that I was twisting the actual line. Now It is in need of replacement. My ??? would be that the line is about a foot long with a loop in the middle and made of aluminum. 1)Was aluminum use for cost reduction or another reason and is it ok to use copper relacement? 2)Is the loop for some relief in installation or an important part of the supply line?. Any help given I am grateful in advance. Keep the dust on ya boot. BKF

The loop is to absorb vibrations, as excessive vibration will eventually cause the line to crack. Yes,copper is a good replacement material; I think it's much better than aluminum.

Once the propane supply is turned on, and a stove is run until it lights, it should only take the fridge a couple of cycles of turning it on for it to purge air on its own.

If it isn't wanting to light after more than that, I'd look at the oraface tube, burner, and electrode generally...
